Introduction to Revaheal Pad Dressing

Revaheal Pad is a three‑layer dressing used in hospitals, clinics, and home care for absorbing wound exudate. It is available in 10 × 10 cm and 20 × 20 cm sizes to fit wounds of varying dimensions. The dressing can also be applied over specialized products such as AlgiPad or Hydrofiber as a secondary dressing.
The three layers perform distinct functions:

Layer Description
Outer white layer In contact with the wound, it directs exudate to the central core and prevents moisture from spreading to the surrounding skin.
Central core This layer traps exudate, preventing it from leaking onto the outer surface of the dressing.
Inner layer Prevents the absorbed exudate from leaking out of the dressing.

Revaheal Pad Dressing is suitable for

  • Chronic and acute wounds with low, moderate, or high exudate
  • Pressure (bed‑sores)
  • Diabetic foot ulcers and highly exudative wounds
  • Vascular wounds (venous/arterial)
  • Post‑operative wounds
  • Burns
  • Infected and non‑infected wounds

Mechanism of Action

  1. Absorption – The inner layer draws exudate (exudate) and moves it toward the upper layers, keeping the wound surface dry.
  2. Barrier & gas exchange – The outer layer permits gas exchange (wound breathing) while acting as a barrier against bacterial infiltration and fluid leakage.

Advantages

  • Flexibility – The dressing conforms to body shape and wounds of varying depth, enhancing patient comfort.
  • Moisture‑control – The contact layer keeps exudate away from the surrounding skin, reducing maceration risk.

How to Use

  1. Clean the wound completely.
  2. Place the Ravaheal Pad on the wound.
  3. When applying, the white side should face the wound, and the colored side should face outward.
  4. The dressing has no adhesive; secure it with a horse‑hair adhesive or a bandage.
  5. Depending on the amount of exudate, change the dressing every 2–5 days.

Warnings

  • Keep out of direct sunlight.
  • Store below 30 °C.
  • If an allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use.
